A Vestavia Hills native and person who loves to read books, Linda Brown always had to travel to nearby suburbs to find a good bookstore.  So, when development began on Vestavia City Center, Linda and her husband, Jim, immediately thought it would be the perfect location to open a bookstore.  After extensive research and much hard work, the store opened its doors in March 2004. Milestone Books has been a booklovers dream come true ever since.

More than a bookstore, Linda and Jim value and are grateful for Milestone's prominence in the community.  As a Partner-In-Education with local schools, supporter of the Vestavia Hills Public Library, and member of the Vestavia Hills Chamber of Commerce, Milestone's focus is on partnering with local schools and organizations to promote children's literacy in the community and surrounding areas.  This is especially exemplified by Milestone's extra-large children's area, which is brimming with Accelerated Reading titles organized by school, grade, and reading level.  Milestone also supports the Southern Independent Booksellers Alliance, the American Booksellers Association, and the Sacred Lineage Group.

The store as a whole carries around 22,000 titles including classic literature, all kinds of contemporary and hard-to-find fiction and non-fiction, current best sellers, local interest, religious titles, magazines, newspaper, audiobooks, and music.  Milestone Books also sells wonderful greeting cards, games, clothing items, and many other unique gifts.  And, Milestone provides free gift wrapping all year long!

In addition, Milestone Books special orders individual and bulk book titles every day with over 95% order fulfillment between 24-48 hours.  Milestone also specializes in serving corporate, religious, and educational accounts, accepts purchase orders, and provides free delivery.  Plus, Jim and Linda welcome you to reserve Milestone's community room for book clubs, bible studies, business and community meetings, or even private tutoring sessions.
